There are things that I'll never understand, and know that I can never change about Kdramas, they are so deep rooted and custom that I believe this has something to do with the way Kdramas are presented, maybe it is my stereotype or cultural shock, but whatever it is I'll never get these references in Kdramas:

SHORT GIRL PAIRED WITH A TALL MAN

This is always the case, never have I ever seen a tall female lead with a shorter man or a male lead with same height, I swear this must be a requirement when casting, I'm still wondering how that is pulled off 🤔

WOMEN ALWAYS WAITING TO BE KISSED

I don't know why women don't take the plunge and just kiss the bloody hot Man 👨 . Stop 🛑 closing you're eyes – you'll kiss a dog one day waiting to be poppong, I swear 🤞🏼

MANAGER/SUPERVISOR WHO LOSES HIS COOL AND GETS VIOLENT WHEN NOT GETTING HIS WAY

Why get physical! I mean there are other ways to express love for your subordinate 😏😉

I do not get the violent outburst, knee kicking, head slapping, hair pulling, objects throwing, tongue slashes and many more ways to just hurt another person – there is the thing called a hug and a written notice – seriously, I swear it's not a phenomenon 😲

CREATING STORYLINE ON A PLOT WHICH CAN BE PRESENTED IN A MOVIE FOR 20 EPISODES

I swear the issue faced by the female lead can be solved in 20 minutes – but no! It will take 20 hours and an antagonist to get to that point where they live happily ever – how it is done? Read my next point:

20 MINUTE LONG FLASHBACKS

The character will always have a tragic childhood or first love – you're never given a chance to wonder, like ever!

Or the flashback is always about conversations had – like really we all know why the character is sad or miserable – the conversation happened like 5 seconds ago! 😱

I am not sure if they want to reverse time or speed up time, sometimes I am like 'Ohh he don't look like a 17 year old' 😏

Regardless of these common reference one thing you can appreciate about Kdramas is their ability to hook you. You know what's going to happen but you watch because there is endless drama, experienced and talented actors and great antagonists. You cannot get enough of these common references they are just addictive and the reason why we love Kdramas, yeolobun deo salanghae 😍😘😊
