Her Majesty The Queen will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee from Thursday 2nd - Sunday 5th June 2022

The Queen has confirmed the dates for the four-day Bank Holiday to mark her Platinum Jubilee for next summer.

Her Majesty will celebrate 70 years on the throne in June 2022 and the 'once-in-a-generation' occurrence will see Britain afforded an extra Bank Holiday.

The monarch will be 96 by the time the landmark is reached, making her the first sovereign to reign for seven decades.

Buckingham Palace has now confirmed June 2-5 will see a series of events reflecting HM's time at the helm, after she succeeded her father to the throne in 1952.

She actually took over on February 6, but seeing as that was also the date of King George VI's death, she pushed it back to the summer.
