Real and Barcelona are looking at Man Utd and Liverpool respectively for low-cost strikers, while Arsenal are linked with three keepers…

REAL EYE CAVANI LOAN
Real Madrid apparently want to sign Edinson Cavani…

Or rather, Florentino Perez wants to sign the Manchester United forward. Apparently, the Real president was keen to add a striker to Carlo Ancelotti's ranks during the summer but the coach was content to go with what he had after it became clear that Kylian Mbappe would not be arriving this year. But El Nacional says Perez is feeling vindicated, especially after Tuesday night's defeat to Sheriff, and will move for a stop-gap striker in January.

Falcao and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were on Perez's radar but the man he wants to sign in the New Year is Cavani. But only on loan.

What the appeal of that might be to United, it's not clear. Even with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, Cavani has a clear role to play at Old Trafford this season, so it seems Perez is p*ssing squarely into the wind once more.

BARCA WANT 'LOW-COST' SALAH NEXT SUMMER
The same publication reckons Barcelona are looking to put themselves in a position to sign Mo Salah next summer and they seem genuinely optimistic about the prospect.

The story goes that Salah is open to a change of scene, despite Liverpool's keenness to tie the forward down to a new deal.

Salah will have a year remaining on his current terms come the end of the season and Barca, who need to source 'low-cost players', reckon Salah might fall into that category.

Apparently, Barca 'guarantees Salah just what he is looking for'. Which might be true if he is looking for a basket case of a club who can barely afford to pay the players they already have.

ARSENAL LINKED WITH THREE KEEPERS
Having signed one goalkeeper in the summer, Arsenal are almost certainly going to have to source another in January.

With Bernd Leno not a happy bunny after losing his place to Aaron Ramsdale, the Germany stopper is set to move in the New Year.

The Daily Mail suggests Inter Milan as a possible destination for Leno, while putting forward three names as a replacement.

Andre Onana is one, and though the Ajax keeper has been heavily linked with Arsenal in the past, it is hard to imagine the Cameroon international moving to the Emirates without the guarantee of being first choice. Especially while Inter could be an option for him too.

Neto is a more realistic prospect, with the Barcelona stopper well used to serving as back-up.

The third option is David Raya, though again, it is hard to imagine the 26-year-old swapping the Brentford sticks for the Arsenal bench.
