This past year has taught us the importance of keeping your immune system in top shape. Fortunately, we can find immune-promoting antioxidants in the foods we eat. Many of these foods have vitamins and minerals that help keep your immune system working to prevent bacteria

As stated above, the keyword is "prevents". These foods are not recommended to be taken as a "quick fix" when you are already sick. Instead, try to implement these foods year-round to keep your immune system strong throughout any time of year.

Additionally, before reaching for that Vitamin C supplement, remember that your body absorbs and uses vitamins and nutrients better when it comes from a direct dietary source 1. Many supplements are also not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), so there may be false information on the food label that can lead to underdosing or overdosing on specific nutrients 1. Lastly, remember that multiple factors such as sleep, exercise, and hydration will help keep your immune system running the best.
